Classes to be held at Diamondhead United Methodist Church,  Diamondhead Pocket Billiards, and Stitch Niche; 4406 Leisure Time Drive, Diamondhead, MS.

ARTS AND CRAFTS

Beading: (Ages 8 to 13) Learn how to create your own bead designs.  Instructor:  Cricket Rotolo;  Asst.: Audrey Ramirez. Tuesdays 1:30 – 2:30 pm

 Crafts: (Ages 6 to 9) Fun and Easy Craft Projects. Instructor: Penny Edwards; Asst.:  Rae Kirkup.  Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 pm

Oil Painting: (Ages 10 to 18) Have fun creating your own original oil painting Instructor:  Donna Brown. Wednesdays 12:00 –1:30 pm

Watercolor: (Ages 10 to 18) Painting techniques with watercolors to create your own beautiful pictures. Instructor: Mary Ellen Turcotte; Asst. Virginia Krebs.  Wednesdays 2:00 – 3:30 pm

    Sewing:   (Ages 8-18)  Basic sewing by hand: class to include threading a needle, knotting thread, repair/doing hems, adding buttons, etc.  Instructor:  Rae Kirkup   Tuesdays 12:00-1:30 p.m.

Beginning Needlepoint:  (Ages 10-18)  Learn basic stitches while working on your own project.  Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 p.m. at STITCH NICHE

 

MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT

Drama: (Ages 9 to 18) Have a great time rehearsing and putting on a play for family and friends. You will learn staging, makeup, costuming, and prop assembly. Instructor: Janelle Kunellis; Asst.:  Betsy Murin   Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30 – 4:30 pm

Movie Making:  (Ages 13-18)  Create your own story line and produce a complete, original movie scene for your story.  Includes writing, acting, lighting, cinematography, editing, and all other aspects of producing and directing a real movie.  Instructor:  Dick Willins; Asst.:  Rosanne Sneddon  Mondays 10:00-11:30 a.m. AT DIAMONDHEAD POCKET BILLIARDS

  Chorus:  (Ages 8-13) Singing for fun and improving personal talent.  Instructor:  Renee McClendon.  Thursdays 11:00-Noon

Fun Science: (Ages 8 to12) Learn some basic science principles through fun experiments.  Instructor: Mike reffalt; Asst.:  Jere Hess.  Thursdays 1:00 – 2:30 pm

 

Yoga: (Ages 10 to 18) Stretching, balance and flexibility are all keys to yoga. This exercise program teaches basic yoga breathing and poses. Bring a yoga mat and towel. Instructor: Janelle Kunellis. Tuesdays 1:00 –2:00 pm

Beginning or Advanced Billiards (Pool): (Ages 9 to 18) How to shoot pool….beginner through advanced. Emphasis will be on individual instruction appropriate to skill level.  Instructor: Dick Willins. Wednesdays 10:00-11:30 (Advanced); 11:00-Noon (Beginning) AT DIAMONDHEAD POCKET BILLIARDS

 

Junior Bridge : (Ages 10 to 18)  Learn how to play this fun and challenging game!    Instructor: Janelle Kunellis,  Thursdays  1:00 –2:30 pm

 

Fun Food Preparation (Younger): (Ages 6 to 8) Create tasty treats and learn how to select, handle, prepare, and present food. Instructor: Kristin Alyea; Asst.: Pat Morgan. Thursdays 2:30 – 4:00 pm

 

Fun Food Preparation (Older): (Ages 9 to 18) Create tasty treats and learn how to select, handle, prepare and present food. Instructor: Kristin Alyea; Asst.: Pat Morgan.  Thursdays 12:30 – 2:00 pm.

   SPECIAL EVENT!  Young Eagles Flight Day!  June 14 (rain date June 15), 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.  Plane rides for the kids by Diamondhead pilots and a BBQ!  Will include training and safety discussions.  Pilot will explain what will happen during flight, discuss the airplane, review aeronautical chart (or map), careful "walk around" preflight inspection of airplane, buckle up and flight time!  Flight time about 15-20 minutes.  EAA Young Eagle Certificates issues to passengers flown.  AT DIAMONDHEAD AIRPORT  Please send in registration form for this special event.

Classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If the class you wish to take is filled this session, your form will be numbered in the order it is received. You will have priority enrollment if space becomes available and you still wish to take the class at that time. For additional information, contact Pat Morgan at jesnpat@cableone.net  

 

FAMILY NIGHT/SHOW AND TELL

Students will exhibit completed projects and the drama club will perform a play on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 7:00 pm at Diamondhead Methodist Church.
